Emergency, the car with keyless system can be hacked easily
Well, there is terrible news for those of you who have a car with keyless system, which can be used to open the door and turn on the engine your car. Professor Srdjan Capkun from ETH Zurich and his team have successfully opened and started the car without closer keyless device to the car.
We know that the keyless system works when the appliance is adjacent to the car but they can open it even from a distance.
No half-hearted, they managed to hacked the system without this key in all the cars tested (there are 10 cars from 8 manufacturers).
They used 2 ways, namely one with a cable system where they connect the car and keyless tool with cable but certainly not this one you have to worry because it must be caught.
Well, the other one is using a wireless system from a distance where a car door can be opened and the engine can be ignited.
You could say the same as a repeater that will extend the existing signal at the keyless device and then forwarded to the car.
The researchers say their device can be made with sufficient price in the range US $ 100-1000, really cheap if the thief to get a car worth billions of dollars.
Especially if with the cable, it costs only US $50.
