Geely IG: eco friendly car design with winged doors
Not the first time we hear cars made Chinese are eco friendly but this time it seems pretty cool. Geely, as one of the biggest Chinese carmaker will launch a solar powered car called the Geely IG. Geely IG is being exhibited at the 2010 Beijing auto show has a design with winged doors like a sports car.
The front and top are filled with solar panels but this car is not fully electric car but a hybrid that uses ordinary engine coupled with electric machines.
IG Geely plans will be issued in two types, EK-1 with a maximum speed of 80 km/h and the distance of 80 km while the EK-1 capable encouraged up to 150 km/h and can go as far as 180 km.
The battery itself can be filled up to 80% with only 18 minutes time. Geely IG plans will begin production next two years.
