HDBaseT will replace the HDMI in the near future?
The popularity of HDMI connection is the more recent rise let alone many gadgets that have adopted this connection but whether this is the best? It turns out secretly, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens Semiconductor is currently developing a new connection to compete with the HDMI. This technology called HDBaseT have several advantages over HDMI, especially problems of distance and also ease of installation.
Compared to HDMI, HDBaseT have coverage up to 100m while the HDMI is only a few yards away and HDBaseT also uses plug types ethernet (RJ-45) so it is more easily applied to many gadgets.
Just like HDMI, HDBaseT can also transmit HD video and audio in one cable. And another one who does not have HDMI is HDBaseT can also be used as a network cable (ethernet) so we do not need two different pieces to make a TV cable we can become Internet TV (HTPC).
If in terms of cost, because it uses similar to the Ethernet cable / network cable auto cable HDBaseT should also cheaper than HDMI is still very expensive for the cable size although a few meters.
