Hybrid-engine train will soon be tested, namely East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) railway companies in Japan will begin to test their hybrid train in the near future (January 2010). This train uses ordinary machines and also machines that use lithium-ion battery (600 V, 163 kWh) for to reduce air pollution and noise. Hybrid train can run at a maximum speed of 100 km/h with the distance of about 50 km to the flat area.
