nec papero The PaPeRo: Robot from NEC to serve as a cashier

Still remember the robots from NEC, the PaPeRo? This time PaPeRo is being demonstratedĀ  instead of the cashier who usually have at malls or stores. In order to demonstrate the TWINPOS E-Money Self-Checkout System which is paid through E-Money (electronic Money), the PaPeRo assigned to provide payment instructions to its customers.

The TWINPOS process is easy for customers into buying something that is quite the scanning of goods purchased on an existing machine and then to pay it could use the phone. PaPeRo can speak Japanese and English so it seems if it is implemented could help a stranger who was shopping.
